We are thrilled to announce that Emmy’s Rustic Run has raised $107,000 for the @atchildrensproject this year!! We are so grateful for the hundreds of people who continue to show up and show support for us every year. There will never be enough words to express our gratitude but please know that your support means the world. We are so thankful to be a part of a community who continues to rally around Emmy and our goal of finding a cure for A-T. It’s hard to believe “Rustic Run Eve” is upon us again! Tomorrow will mark the 9th year of hosting our little trail run but more importantly it will mark another amazing year of this community coming together to support and bring hope to our family and to all families with children who are struggling with A-T. Emmy’s disease has taken so much from her at such a young age but it has also given us an incredible opportunity to come together and fight for something we believe in: finding a cure for A-T! We’ll never be able to thank our sponsors, volunteers, or participants enough for all that you do but we hope to give you another unforgettably fun day tomorrow to show our appreciation. Registration booth opens at 8am and 5k kicks off at 9am! Whether you’re coming to run or coming for the fun: we’ll be here and ready for you! 🍂RACE DAY SCHEDULE and FAQs🍂 🍂CAN I DO THE BOTH THE 5K AND THE 1MI EVENTS? Yes! Your registration includes entry to both events- go run the 5k, feast on some pancakes, and then stroll the 1mi course and try to find everything on our scavenger hunt list! 🍂DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 11AM FOR THE WALK? No, you are welcome to wander in the woods whenever you’d like (for as long as you’d like!). There are signs posted but if you do decide to go early, please remember to keep to the right as there will be 5kers working hard out there! 🍂HOW DO THE KIDS RACES WORK? We typically do two heats for our kids races: 0-4yrs and 5-8yrs. The distances are approximately .1mi and .2mi, respectively. As always, the kids can look forward to trying to catch a special guest on their run! 😉 We hope you’ll join in the fun and come cheer on our littlest runners! 🍂CAN I REGISTER ON SATURDAY? Walk-up registrations are always welcome but please note that t-shirt availability is limited this year. Our registration booth will open at 8am! 🍂WILL THERE BE AN EARLY PACKET PICK-UP AGAIN? Yes! Please feel free to stop out on Friday between 3-6pm to pick up your t-shirt and runner goodie bag! Race day is almost here! We are encouraging all participants to stop by this Friday, September 26th from 3pm-6pm to pick up their event t-shirts and bibs. Pickup will take place at N580 Poeppel Rd, Fort Atkinson-- look for our big red "Emmy's Rustic Run" flag at the end of the driveway! Once you turn into the driveway, proceed all the way up to the top of the hill (don't park in the parking lot/field, that's for Saturday). You may remain in your vehicle and our volunteers will bring you your event t-shirt, race bib, and goodie bag! 🌟 DOOR PRIZE DRAWINGS: Not only does early packet pick-up help prevent long lines on race morning but it also gets you entered into our DOOR PRIZE drawings! 🌟 PICKING UP FOR A FRIEND? Be sure to provide us with their first and last name as well as t-shirt size. 🌟 NOTE: If you are unable to attend packet pickup on Friday, please plan to arrive between 8-8:40am on Saturday and look for the "PRE-REGISTERED" banner! 🌟 Haven't signed up yet? 🚨Warning: Tough Run Ahead🚨 Over the years Emmy has lost a lot of her physical abilities. She requires assistance in nearly everything she does and that includes things as simple as standing up or eating. Her life is pretty hard at times and anyone who has joined us before can you tell you: this trail is pretty hard, too. So we like to ask our runners to do something special. Come and run for you or your loved ones but when you see this sign: run for Emmy.
